Here are Maddie and Beau at "The Nutcracker" - it was splendid! It was produced by the ballet company where Maddie takes ballet - "The International Ballet Company." Beau is holding his new Nutcracker doll, and Maddie has her ballet doll and chocolate chip cookies. I know for a fact that they sell those ballet dolls at Dollar Tree, and needless to say the price was jacked up for fundraising at the ballet. Alas.... The Greenville Symphony Orchestra played for the ballet, and they were absolutely marvelous. Wonderful, in fact - the star of the show.The other big news of the weekend is that Scarlet and Gary are going to see Billy Joel in Greenville in February. Gary got online right at 10 a.m., so we got good seats -- by my standards, not Gary's. If Gary doesn't get tickets 5 rows back, he's disappointed. I downloaded a bunch of Billy Joel on my new MP3, and it made it happy thinking that I'll see him again live, soon. Gary bought me Billy Joel tickets after we had been dating about 6 months -- about 13 years ago. It was the nicest, most thoughtful thing that any man had ever done for me. It's good to know that he hasn't lost his touch.
