Is It All Carrie Bradshaw's Fault?

One of my favorite shows ever is Sex and the City. However, after forcing myself to watch Suze Orman on Oprah tonight (TIVO'd, no less), and hearing Suze talk about how the lifestyle of everyone in America is to blame for our economic plight, I can't help but wonder whether Carrie is to blame for the upheaval we have seen in the past week. When Carrie's building went co-op, and she was forced to make a buy or move decision, she assessed her life and realized that she had no economic worth. What did she have, though? $40,000.00 worth of designer shoes. That pretty much sums it up. The only thing is that the $40K in shoes creates jobs for people, which jobs won't be there tomorrow. I'm optimstic, though. It is so trite, but it is the time to make lemonade out of lemons.
