Back to Reality

Hello, faithful blog readers! The Moore Family is back from their glorious Miami/Bahamas adventure - what a great time we had! The babies took their first plane flight (Beau had flown before but wasn't old enough to remember any of it), and loved it! I got a bit nervous the night before our flight, not knowing how Maddie would react to being in the plane. She took to it like a duck to water - so naturally. We boarded the cruise ship on Friday, and set sail for Nassau, Bahamas. We swam, relaxed, listened to great reggae music by "Island Fever" - an electric drummer and his size 0 gorgeous singing partner, ate great food including ice cream cones around the clock, watched fabulous shows, learned how to fold towels into the shapes of animals, shopped for straw bags at the Nassau market, and much more! The only disappointment of the cruise was that the kids didn't get to see Freddy Fun Ship, mom's nemesis from last year's cruise. I saw Freddy as I was walking around the ship one evening by myself, but the kids missed him. Alas... I'll post pics when I unpack the suitcases and retrieve the camera.

On Monday, we checked into Miami's Fontainbleau hotel. A girl could get used to the luxury of the Bleau. Our hotel "room" (a mini-suite) was fabulous - flat screen TV, huge king bed, a comfy pull-out sofa for the kids, marble countertops in the bathroom, a jacuzzi tub, a beautiful view of downtown Miami - the works! We even let the kids indulge in $6.00 mini cans of Pringle's - all they could eat! We had to draw the line at the $9.00 bagels in the restaurant, though; we opted for the Sheraton breakfast buffet, two doors down, instead. Ha! The pool was also fantastic - warm like bath water, overlooking the city skyline, with custom-fitting white beach towels over padded lounge chairs. There was cool "mood" music playing at the pool, too - too hip. The true highlight of the Miami trip, though, was the delish key lime pie (my absolutely favorite ever) at a restaurant on Lincoln Road called Spris - Italian. And, of course, recharging and spending great time with the babies.
