This morning, the Moore Family awoke to a glorious blanket of snow! I admit, it was hard to sleep last night in anticipation of the arrival of the snow. It reminded me of when I was a little girl in the mountains, wondering if the snow would arrive. The weather here was bad enough to cancel all of the schools in the surrounding area, as well as the courthouse, and my work. Beau and Maddie were delighted to see the snow! We had a great day, but had to make a trip to Target in the early evening, because we were getting stir-crazy. The day was filled with snowball fights...

Catching up on the dishes....

Surfing the internet....

Having tea parties and coloring...

And building forts in the living room with every pillow in sight!

Of course, we had to give "gran-granny" a call in Asheville to tell him about the snow, and check on the weather in his area. Ironically, the higher elevations didn't get the snowfall that we did. We can also count on gran-granny to be our resident "Cliff Claven" from Cheers, who notoriously watched The Weather Channel 24/7. Here is Beau talking to grandad:

Maddie and I also did our share of baking today -- fully breaking in the Easy Bake Oven. We made chocolate chip cookies in the Easy Bake, and I made some dark chocolate/raspberry chip toll house cookies in the "big" oven.
Overall, we had a great day of relaxation and being together -- taking a break from the every day hustle and bustle, to focus on the simple pleasures.
